Are You a Blogger or Do You Just Love to Nosh?
The Blog Nosh Magazine audience is a curious one to me, as your slightly distracted but passionate publisher and editor-in-chief. Are you mostly bloggers yourselves or actual pure readers who don’t insist on grabbing your own share of the pixelated spotlight? (And I say that with love, as I am one of those spotlight grubbers.)
Let’s find out, shall we?
I recently attended the BlissDom blog conference in Nashville. The attendance was heavily women bloggers, which was appropriate for me because I am both a woman and a blogger and even occasionally the epitome of that combination: The Mommyblogger. As such, I introduced myself primarily as “Megan from Velveteen Mind,” and then did that little butt-scrunch of “Dear God, let them recognize my blog so I don’t have to do the ‘not-that-you-would-have-heard-of-me’ wave off of ego abasement.”
What consistently took me by surprise was the occasional follow-up from a nearby cohort of, “She’s also behind Blog Nosh.” This would inevitably induce a fit of lower lip biting from me, as “Whew, you’ve definitely not heard of us because we are really new.”
Oh, was I wrong.
Bloggers love Blog Nosh Magazine. And we love them. Even if it is an uphill battle to get ourselves in front of them and their readers and then an even steeper climb to convey what it is exactly that we do for both writers and readers alike.
Breaking new ground is always a challenge, but with your help we have been doing just that.
Today is a simple “Thank You!” to all of you that write about us, tell your friends about us, and take the time to put our Blog Nosh Magazine badge in your sidebars (have you done that, yet? we have styles for the nibbler and the full-on nosher!). I mic-wrangled in the audience for much of the conference and frequently felt a blush of pride as I would notice laptops open to blogs that featured our buttons in their sidebars. Seen in that context, it truly conveyed that we are getting through to readers and doing well by our bloggers and editors, as well as our audience.
Your support means a world of chocolate-covered delicousness to us and we thank you. With a cherry on top.

Just so you know, I love Blog Nosh! I’ve been introduced to things I never would have read, and i love the new blogs in my reader
I am a blogger, but I was a lurking reader for a while before I jumped in.
I love Blog Nosh for being just that - a nosh. It samples a wide range of blogs I might never find on my own.
And I can’t believe I don’t have the button yet! Going to get it now.
Alicia @ Oh2122s last blog post..99 …
“I am both a woman and a blogger and even occasionally the epitome of that combination: The Mommyblogger.” I don’t think it’s the ‘epitome’. It’s also downright cool to be a non-mom woman and a blogger. We are out here.
Ack. Maybe I used “epitome” wrong. Plus, totally tongue-in-cheek. You know I don’t actually even consider myself a “mommyblogger.”
We absolutely know that there are bloggers out there beyond mom bloggers. Just look at our navigation of channels! My use of the term was facetious, I promise.
