Recently, two friends and I decided to form a small group for spiritual formation. What we're using incorporates lectio divina with spiritual disciplines and accountability. But all of that is neither here nor there.

I love a good movie. I love the story. I love the artistic interplay of the writing, directing, acting, sets, costumes, music. I love reclining in that chair in the movie theater and watching it all unfold in two hours.

More Easter Thoughts

Friends invited us over for Easter lunch/dinner (it was somewhere in between).

Last year, they gave up desserts for Lent, so they made five desserts for Easter. This year, they gave up meat. We had a plethora of meat in this year's meal. I suggested that Chris and I should be able to contribute to their next Lenten decision.

Yes, I recognize the incongruency in that statement, the past tense "started" with future reference "tonight." But that's what it means to enter into the story of the Bible. In some sense, as the writers of Battlestar Galactice said, "All this has happened before; all this will happen again."
